I have been using only Skin Biology for 10 years. I am now 58. I use your hair products and not one grey hair at this stage. I am so grateful for your research and your integrity in your product.

SC, Australia

My husband started two months ago with Folligen Solution Spray, waoo, what results... I took pictures of him before and now we compare it and you can notice the improvement.

S from Orlando, FL from June 2011.

Through extensive research I found your products not only for hair but for skin. For about three weeks I have been using a dilution of 50% Folligen Spray/50% purified water which I apply with a bottle dropper on parted hair at top of my head and rub in with Q-tip... My regimen: 5% minoxidil full strength in am @16 drops and Folligen 50% dilution in am @/16 drops.

I have very light blonde hair chemically processed every 2 months. I have not had any color from the Folligen stain my hair at all and I use it every night. I will keep you informed about my progress.

Hair Concerns: MEN

Current theories on how to improve the appearance of thinning hair for men have focused mainly on the metabolic actions of testosterone metabolites. However, the ultimate factor in improving hair health should be to focus on the follicle itself.

Most online hair tips for improving thinning hair lack a fundamental knowledge of human skin biology and the science of hair follicle rejuvenation. The issue is that if a person does not fully understand the cause of a problem, how can they ever expect to find help for it?

Our approach at Skin Biology is to literally get to the root of the issue and focus on the health of the scalp.

Following the suggested use of Skin Biology's copper peptides, clients around the world have seen positive changes in the appearance of their hair and are overjoyed as they also discover just how easy it is to incorporate Folligen or Hair Signals Therapy into a weekly regimen.

Our Recommendations:

Start with Copper Peptides:
Folligen Therapy Cream, Folligen Therapy Spray,
Hair Signals Solution or Hair Signals Cream:

We recommend applying Folligen or Hair Signals
once every other day as a light coating on the scalp.
Apply before bedtime. Massage in.

Emu Oil - Lock in Moisture!

Many of our customers report that the combination of Folligen and Emu Oil often help revitalize the appearance of their hair*.

How does emu oil work? First of all, emu oil is a biological oil that can effectively moisturize the scalp from root to tip. Most clients use it as a light scalp oil. But Emu Oil can be applied very lightly on the tips of your hair to stave off split ends and hydrate a dry, frizzy appearance.

A few drops of Emu Oil can also be added to deep conditioning treatments.

For those who prefer a plant-based scalp oil, we recommend Squalane Lipid Replenisher.

How to Use Minoxidil (2% or 5%)

As the only topical approved for hair growth by the FDA, some have also decided to add Minoxidil to their scalp care regimen.

Most start with 2% and progressively increase to 5% (if needed). Keep in mind that minoxidil can at times result in mild scalp irritation. Use only as directed. Start with every other day applications (or even 2-3 times a week). Test on a small area first. If irritation occurs, stop Minoxidil and use only Folligen until your scalp has calmed.

Others have tried retinoic acid on the scalp (ranging between 0.01 to 0.05%). But this may also irritate the scalp. Clients must always do their due diligence by first thoroughly researching any method they decide to use. Test any new product on a small area first. And use all scalp products lightly.

Retinoic acid (Retin-A) may help produce thicker hair shafts when used with minoxidil. This combination appears to be one of the better current approaches to hair rejuvenation. However, the major drawback is often strong scalp irritation. Sometimes, the combination of minoxidil and retinoic acid causes breaks in the skin barrier.

Folligen and/or Emu Oil, when used lightly, seem to greatly reduce this irritation.

The addition of anti-testosterone supplements or DHT blockers may help further.

Some have decided to also research non-drug, natural DHT blockers (which include saw palmetto oil, pygeum and nettle root extract, isoflavones genistein and daidzein, and ginkgo biloba).

Blonde hair may pick up a green tint if copper peptides are overused. The effect is similar to the greenish-tint that can happen to very blonde hair after spending time in chlorinated swimming pools. The green/blue-ish tint is temporary and can be removed with a solution of 1 part of lemon juice to 4 parts of water.

OR ----to avoid potential temporary coloring, those with blonde hair can always use Folligen for Blondes which leaves no color on the hair at all.

You can apply Emu Oil S Lipid Replenisher after a light application of your copper peptide topical to enhance penetration and help moisturize dry scalp.

Research whether light use of Minoxidil is worth adding to your personal haircare regimen. If you decide to use Minoxidil (or Rogaine) ALWAYS use Folligen along with it (either alternating with every other day applications or applying Folligen after the Minoxidil). Discontinue minoxidil if you experience scalp irritation. Always test on a small area first.

Typical results take approximately 4-6 weeks of consistent use to start to notice the beginnings of positive changes in hair appearance. Be sure to use the product consistently during this time period.
