I am finally winning the battle against solar keratoses. I have an Irish background with very fair skin and have always had a serious problem with sun damage spots developing on my torso - front and back. I have had them removed by lasers, by freezing, and by surgery but non of these methods is really satisfactory and often results in more scarring. After using TriReduction P&R mixed with a hydroxyl acid, I was able to remove the keratoses. They would flatten down, then either fall off or I could scrape them off. This method left no scars. I have a very light and easily damaged skin. Last summer I ordered your 2-Step Skin System and have been using it on a number of thickened sun-spots. These skin defects have been with me about 10 years and nothing seemed to be very effective in removing them. My dermatologist would take them off and they almost always grew back. The P&R and the hydroxy acid has removed many of the ugly dark sun damage spots on my skin. They are gone and the skin where they were looks normal. I have found that if I scrap the sun damage spots a little to help get the cream in, the the spots are removed faster.

I've been surfing for 20 years and due to sun damage I had extensive hypopigmentation. I started with Exfol Cream, Protect & Restore, and Super CP Serum...At the beginning I did 40% lactic acid peels done once a week, to supplement my regimen of Skin Biology products (eventually I was able to slowly work up to 65% lactic acid once a week)...But it was after only six weeks that I started to notice an improvement - a sort of 'breaking up' of the hypopigmentation...Now months have passed and I'm seeing excellent results... I would also remind people working with hypopigmentation to remember to use some type of sun protection when they go out, since the skin can hypopigment again and all your progress can be un-done because of un-protected sun exposure. Also the lactic acid has been the most successful hydroxy acid for me. Even with my sensitive skin I can use it and the Super CP Serum and after trying so many things for hypopigmentation I've finally started to notice a visible difference! Thank you. I did something a little nutty to test the products. I took an eyebrow brush and brushed a deep line/wrinkle on my neck vigorously. It turned very red but did not bleed. Success! Thank you for all your wonderful advice. The CP Serum is working great on my skin. My face feels more "normal" now and I don't have to soak it with moisturizers anymore, (although I still need a little moisturizer over the CP Serum) For your studies (you said you keep records of what is working for people), I have using CP Serum and Azelex (20%) every day. I use the CP Serum 2 times per day and the Azelex at night. I haven't used the Exfol Serum because the cream made my acne-prone skin break out and I also discovered that applying hydroxys with Azelex is too much and that the Azelex is working as an exfoliator. My sun spots are less, my face looks brighter and more even toned and fresher and the small lines around my eyes have about disappeared. Also, a mole under my chin is starting to get smaller--something I hadn't counted on or even purchased the copper for!! I had a professional peel yesterday and applied CP Serum afterward and my skin looks great this morning. So I hope this helps you in your research.

I started using Trireduction and an exfoliator for a ugly dark gray scar on my nose from an auto accident when I was a kid [45 now] and some other acne pit scars too. Well, along the pitting were some broken capillaries too. You guessed it! They have remarkable decreased and some have disappeared. My scars are filling in and the ugly gray one is light gray and turning a light silvery color and the texture is nearly that of normal skin. If you want to give it a go. I say get some samples. I've never used anything that even comes close to this stuff.

I am a 51 year old woman with acne scarring and sun damage on my face. I started using TriReduction P&R with Retinol and Exfol Cream two weeks ago and I'm really pleased with what they are doing for my skin. Thank you for these products and your terrific website. I've been mixing the TriReduction P&R with Retinol and the Exfol Cream in equal parts and smoothing them over my cheeks twice a day. At night I follow with Retin-A about an hour later. In the morning I use your products under my sunscreen and make-up. I find myself applying them to more and more of my face each day and have had no adverse reactions. My question is: Would is be safe to use them on my entire face twice a day, or is this too much? Also, I have some (very expensive) La Mer Face Serum that I hate to waste. Can I use this with your products, and if so, how? I have a sample of the TriReduction P&R Basic that I would like to try on my cuticles and weak, peeling fingernails. Would this be okay or should I order a different version of the P&R for this? I will welcome any recommendations you can give me. I'm so impressed with your products that I don't want to use anything else!

Skin Biology answer: You can use the TriReduction twice daily unless your skin becomes irritated from too much hydroxy acid. It this happens, just reduce the application amount. You can use P&R with La Mer Face Cream. Use the TriReduction P&R on your fingernails and cuticles nightly. We are getting rave reports on P&R improving nails. Sun Damage Skin and You: How to Treat Sun Damage

Although a certain amount of sunlight may be necessary for good health, over exposure to ultraviolet rays may produce skin damage, wrinkling, and other unwanted effects.
