...I have problems with acne and acne scars. I tried one of the new collagen producing peptides that are advertised on TV and magazines. After two months, I was getting hard spots all over my face. Then I switched to a morning wash of Gentle Clean or Neutrogena's cleanser with salicylic acid followed by a 15% glycolic acid and CP Serum or Super Cop. In the evening, I use Gentle Clean and Protect & Restore #3 and a little emu oil on dry skin areas. My acne has cleared, scars are reducing, and the emu oil does cause any breakouts.

...First I'd like to offer a cautiously optimistic testimonial--I think I'm on my way to being blemish-free for multiple days in a row! After that, maybe longer!! I have been a fan and committed user of Skin Biology's Copper-Peptides for about 18 months. Initially I noticed an improvement in skin quality and moisture content when I commenced using CP Serum for acne scarring, burns from a CO2 laser and scar revision surgeries (post car accident).
Within approximately 2 months, scars began to look somewat improved. At that point I switched to Super CP Serum (in conjunction with a 2% BHA). ...On June 13, 2003 I purchased the Acne Scar Reduction Kit and cannot believe the incredible results. I have NEVER felt compelled to contact any company with a compliment or testimonial. I have suffered from acne most of my life. I have acne scars that have been on my face for many years. I do not, and have never, avoided the sun, so I suppose I have sun damage along with 36 year-old problematic skin (such as fine lines, oily skin, acne, etc.).
I have used $300 magic potions and $3 drug store remedies and everything in between. I have used Proactiv Acne System and still had acne and it created more discoloration on my face. I have been on Tetracycline and Accutane and still had acne, along with dry skin which I never in my life have had. I have used everything on all the shopping channels, some were expensive and promised the unbelievable (Serious Skin Care, Isomers, Murad, etc.). Pitted Acne Scars

Pitted acne scars often respond well to these methods. Pitted scars are difficult to remove with traditional dermatological techniques that try to remove scars rapidly.

The key with pitted acne is to rub LacSal Serum or Exfol Serum into the pitted scar on a daily basis. This slowly dissolves and removes the scar tissue. In the morning use a copper peptide product (either Super CP Serum, Super Cop Cream, or Super Cop Cream 2X Extra Strength). Strong copper peptides help keep irritation down and create an environment conducive for the rebuilding of new skin to replace the lost scar tissue. As the scar tissue is replaced with healthy skin, the skin's surface pulls itself flat like a balloon.

Some people use this method but also use a 30% glycolic acid twice weekly to speed the process.

Deep Acne Scarring

Depressed severe scars are often improved by laser resurfacing procedure. First, the individual scars are first resurfaced with several passes of a laser, then later the complete area, such as the cheeks of the full face is resurfaced . With very depressed scars, the depression is often first to be corrected by the dermal-collagen graft procedures to fill the area, then followed by laser resurfacing after a few months.

For severe "ice pick" scars, often a prior surgical procedure surgically is used removes the scar tissue. Then punch grafts are taken from behind the ears, and inserted into the above defects and allowed to heal. After three to six weeks, these areas is laser resurfaced. This has been compared to patching and sanding all cracks and gouges in a wall, before applying the coat of paint.

Some physicians use very fine needles to inject 70% glycolic acid into the acne pits to loosen the scar tissue.

If you have very sensitive skin, always start with our mildest copper peptide: Super GHK-Copper Cream.

If you have combination-to-oily skin type use the serum/liquid oil-free versions of our products. If you have normal-to-dry skin type use the creams.

You can use the hydroxy acid and copper peptides together, but hydroxy acids work best if kept at a low pH and mixing with other products can raise the pH level.

If you do not see enough progress, try using a stronger hydroxy acid from one of our resellers. You can apply more hydroxy acid during the day. But reduce the amount if your skin become irritated.

If you are using acne products recommended by your dermatologist, we recommend you alternate copper peptides and an exfoliator one day and your acne product the next day. Common products used alongside copper peptides include benzoyl peroxide, Retin-A and ProActiv. SRCPs (Skin Remodeling Copper-Peptides) help reduce the irritation caused by other anti-acne products and allow for their more effective use.

For spot treatment: use the cream versions, once or twice a day regularly. Some find Super Cop 2X - Extra Strength and LacSal Cream work best for spot treating scars. Rub the products into the scar area. Test this combination for 2 weeks and see how they work. If your skin becomes irritated, use smaller amounts of the products.

If This Does Not Work Well Enough For You

Stronger alpha or beta hydroxy acids will speed the procedure but also increase the chances of irritation or chemical burns. A 2% salicylic acid is about equivalent to a 10% glycolic acid in terms of exfoliation and scar removal. The Skin Biology LacSal Serum is a 10% hydroxy acid at pH 3.2. Some customers and clinics use stronger salicylic acids or 30% to 70% hydroxy acids to loosen and dissolve the scar tissue then apply the copper peptide product.

Typical results take approximately 4-6 weeks of consistent use.
